Lenten Devotional Series 2020: Day 4

Let it All Go by Mark Bryan

For today, I want us to focus with a centering prayer. A centering prayer is where we pray to God and focus on a word or a phrase. I want you to focus on the phase, “Let it all go.”

Let that phrase hold focus in your mind and see what comes up, and then let it go. When a distraction comes to mind, let it go. When something tells you that you cannot reach a goal, let it go.

Let go of assumptions, of pretenses, of judgements, or concerns, of worries, of fear, of what is holding you back.

Pray to God that you can let go and follow him.

Luke 5: 27-32

After this he went out and saw a tax-collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth; and he said to him, ‘Follow me.’ And he got up, left everything, and followed him.

Then Levi gave a great banquet for him in his house; and there was a large crowd of tax-collectors and others sitting at the table with them. The Pharisees and their scribes were complaining to his disciples, saying, ‘Why do you eat and drink with tax-collectors and sinners?’ Jesus answered, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I have come to call not the righteous but sinners to repentance.’
